During our plant week we also learned about how plants get their water. This is also another easy science experiment to do in class and the Learners think that it's so cool! What you need:
White carnations
Food coloring
Clear containers to put the flowers in
Water

Fill the containers with water, add the food coloring, and cut the carnation stems at an angle. Add the carnations and watch what happens.
We did this experiment in Friday and its day over the weekend and we are still watching it!! Here are some of our photos from our class photog!

Try it yourself to see if you get the same results! If you try this experiment comment to tell me what colors you tried and which ones worked best! My class chose the red and green. :-)
