On Friday we celebrated MLK day since we did not have school on the actual MLK day. We drew pictures of MLK and and read several books about his life.

Santa's Secret Penguin Spy is an AWESOME book! We have a celebrity in our class! This is Carter, he is reading this book to our class written by his aunt Nicole Cagle. My class loved this story! The book has Carter and his brother's names listed on Santa's nice list! So he is our class celebrity! You should definately add this book to your home or classroom library! You can get this book at the website listed below:
http://m.zifflebooks.com/Get-The-Book.html I know... I know... This post is a little late! Here is a sheet I made for Thanksgiving to have them explain in 3 steps how to catch a turkey. I got some very great ideas! Here are just a few! This sheet can be found on my TpT site:

Find this sheet on my TpT site at: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Megan-Lenhardt This is a sheet I made to use during my Mitten unit. My class did a great job filling in what crawled into their mitten and why. I use construction paper and they traced their hand to make a mitten and made it into a pop up to put their picture into the mitten. Find this sheet on my TpT site:
http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Megan-Lenhardt During our winter/ snowmen unit I had my students come up with creative ideas for what they would do if they lived inside a snowglobe. Here are some few examples. You can also find the writing prompt on my TpT site.
http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Megan-Lenhardt Recently I bought a set of these story cubes and I have been using them in my small reading groups. My students love them and think its such a fun idea. I have started using these to spark creative thinking to help with out creative writing. I let my students roll two dice and have to create a sentence using both pictures.
