This week we are exploring pumpkins! We have done so many fun things with pumpkins!
First, we made paper year pumpkins! Each learner got a pumpkin traced on a paper, they cut it out and only use their fingers to tear small pieces of orange paper to cover their pumpkins!
In our reading center this week at the writing center Learners wrote their own sentences about pumpkins and illustrated them. Check out this great example!
And today we did our pumpkin science experiment. We first did a pumpkin observation sheet where we estimated the number of seeds, etc. then we had some help from the Fourth Graders and some helped us write pumpkin facts of the back of our paper and some helped us clean out the inside of the pumpkin! Then, we all came back as a group and carved the face.
Finally, we combined yeast, water, dish soap, hydrogen peroxide and made an oozing pumpkin!
